The Reflecting Pool
I gaze upon the mirror waters,
the leaves reflected dimly as silhouettes,
upon a liquid sky,
but no person is there.
Who is that woman
whose voice is a constant chattering companion?
She is not to be seen there,
nor am I;
I wish she would hush,
if only for a moment.
I gaze upon the mirror waters,
the leaves reflected dimly as silhouettes,
upon a liquid sky,
but no person is there.
Who is that woman
whose voice is a constant chattering companion?
She is not to be seen there,
nor am I;
I wish she would hush,
if only for a moment.
